A Russian plane struck a bird and therefore had to land forcibly

The SUHOJ Superjet-100, a line aircraft known as unreliable, forcibly landed in Siberia today after a motor failure, Russian media reported.

There were 80 passengers on the plane

“The landing was normal,” a spokesman for the Russian company Jamal said, RIA Novosti reports. No one was hurt.

The company alleged that an 80-passenger plane flying to St. Petersburg struck a bird, damaging its left engine.

The crash happened an hour and a half after taking off from Tyumen, 2,000 km east of Moscow.

As a result of the malfunction, the pilot returned and immediately landed at the departure airport, the company said.

In two previous accidents, 86 people were killed

Proudly launched in 2011, the SS-100 is the first civilian aircraft made in Russia after the collapse of the USSR in 1991, but its sales abroad are zero due to high maintenance costs and unreliability.

Shortly after the first commercial SS-100 flights, one fell in 2012 in Indonesia, killing 45 people.

In May, 41 people were killed in a fire in a plane of this type after a forced landing in Moscow.
