American Airlines and Delta interrupt all flights to China due to coronaviruses

US Airlines Delta Airlines and American Airlines have decided to temporarily cancel all flights between the US and China on Friday, and many other companies in the world have taken a similar step.

“The last flight to China from the US will depart on Monday, February 3, and the last return flight will be from China on February 5,” Delta said in a statement. Her suspension will last until April 30.

China condemns US

The US State Department on Friday advised US citizens not to travel to China for possible coronavirus infection.

Beijing soon condemned such a move, saying that “the words and actions of some US officials are neither fact-based nor appropriate.”

“While the World Health Organization has recommended that travel should not be restricted, the US has hastened to do the opposite. It is certainly not a gesture of goodwill,” said Chinese diplomacy spokeswoman Hua Chunying.

For fear of the spread of coronaviruses and numerous other companies have temporarily suspended flights to China.

Among others, Air Canada, which announced on January 28 that it was canceling flights to China, and Air France, which canceled flights until February 9, did so.

All Russian companies, with the exception of the national company Aeroflot, will cease to fly temporarily to China.

Turkish Airlines reduces the number of flights

The Nordic company SAS announced on Thursday that it is suspending all flights to and from Shanghai from January 31st from February 9th.

SAS has links to these two Chinese cities 12 times a week.

Shanghai Airlines on Friday announced that it was interrupting the Chengdu – Budapest route between February 4 and March 28 and Xi'an – Budapest from February 6 to March 26.

The Shanghai-Budapest connection is not covered by the new rules.
