Information and Culture Minister Lai Mohammed said the gesture was among government’s efforts to ameliorate the impact of COVID-19 on the industry.

At a meeting with the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BON) in Abuja, led by its Vice-President Godfrey Ohuabunwa, the minister said the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) had sent protective equipment to some community broadcast stations across the country.

“I want to announce that I have approved the request by the NBC to grant a two-month licence fee waiver for terrestrial broadcast stations in Nigeria,” he said.
