Kebbi seeks cancellation of Kebbi council poll

By Khadijat Saidu Birnin Kebbi

The Peoples Democratic Party has called for cancellation of the council poll in Kebbi State over alleged  reported cases of violence and ballot- snatching.

Its chairman, Haruna D. Saidu, told the Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission, (KSIEC) to cancel all the results generated and transmitted to its office from the areas where there were reported cases of violence, ballot box snatching

Saidu made this known on Sunday in chat with reporters.

He mentioned the affected local government areas as Ngaski, Maiyama, Dandi, Shanga, Argungu some parts of Yauri and Zuru.

He claimed the poll was marred  by reported cases of violence, irregularities and electoral malpractice in those places.

He further alleged that some political thugs, bandits and miscreants were imported from unknown destination by the ruling  All Progressives Congress (APC) during the exercise.

He alleged the situation prevented innocent citizens determined to cast their votes in favour of PDP from exercising their preference.

“We are calling on all institutions and those in authorities, especially, KESIEC to declare null and void all results that was  submitted to it especially, those local government areas where election did not take place.

“The chairman aso alleged that the result pattern adopted by APC  was to win the election by hook or crook, this is very dangerous for the survival of our society,” he stated .
