PRESIDENT OF BRAZIL Jair Bolsonaro has listed religious gatherings with shops and pharmacies as essential activities that his population may continue to perform during the coronavirus pandemic.

The governor of São Paulo suggested that religious gatherings be banned for at least 60 days, but Bolsonaro did not accept it. His decision was supported by the country's religious leaders.
