The high school student discovers something amazing in space

This is the first such discovery of a new satellite by the planet-finding agency known as TESH, but more interesting is that it was found by a college student working as an intern on the third day of his work .

“I looked at the data that the volunteers described as the eclipse of a binary system, a system where two stars rotate from each other and eclipse each other's orbit from our view,” explained 17-year-old Wolf Kukier.

He saw a signal from a system called TOI 1338, but thought it was an eclipse. Then he realized that he was wrong and that he had actually found the planet, transmits KosovaPress.

The new planet was named 'TOI 1338 b' due to its current system, and is approximately 1300 light-years from Earth.

The planet is 6.9 times larger than Earth – it is somewhere between Neptune and Saturn. It is also impossible for any form of life to be found in it.

The two stars orbit each other for 15 days. One is about 10 percent more massive than our Sun, while the other is cooler, darker, and as large as a third of the Sun.
